More Joys of Being A Self-Published Author

I often joke that the only part of the whole authoring process I enjoy is writing the rough draft;
that very first time the story is put onto paper or screen. It’s a fun part because it’s all your own, nobody else has seen it or read it. Then it goes to Beta readers, who tell you everything that’s wrong with it, then editors, who tell you what’s still wrong with it, before you publish and the public, with luck, says they quite like it.

When I had some books published, I learned how to use the AMS (Amazon Marketing Services) advertising platform to make my own ads. This only took about a year of my life and a significant portion of my life savings. Then I learned the Bookbub advertising platform, which took another chunk of my life and savings. With all the expertise I now had, I tried to learn Facebook’s advertising platform. I think Mr. Zuckerberg created this when he was an infant and has refused to let anyone improve it since. Facebook’s platform has taken two years of my life, a ton of money, and my will to live.

I tell you all this because recently I’ve been talking to a TikTok
expert about TikTok marketing. We’ve agreed there’ll be no dancing involved, so both you and I are safe. Better yet, he’ll do everything. If you’re a TikTok regular, look out for ‘my’ ads after September 19.

Hopefully, you’ll be amazed.
