Selecting Your Book's Title Can Be Murder

Selecting Your Book's Title Can Be Murder

One of the most frustratingly anxious moments in a writer’s life is when the next book’s title must be finalized. For a self-published author, it’s when you wish to post the pre-order link into Amazon. The title is then truly fixed so you better have it right. I have several possible titles for the first in my ‘Inspector Ramsay’ series. None have yet grabbed me enough to say, ‘that’s it’.

Before I ask you to let me know which you like best, I’ll give a short synopsis of the plot:

Retired Inspector Ramsay and his dog, Bracken, are walking the peaks in England’s mountainous Lake District when they see a young woman running and hear, far behind her, two men and a savage dog. Ramsay steps in to hide her and send the pursuers off her trail. He learns she’s been held captive nearby and decides to investigate. She, however, runs away from him as well and he’s left with nothing to sleuth. Naturally, things go downhill from there until he’s forced to uncover the truth behind the kidnapping and murder.
